We’re looking ahead to the cooler months and as such it’s the perfect time to be announcing the Little Muddy Boots Autumn Winter Collection.
We’ve taken our brilliant outdoor weather clothing collection and branded it with the Little Muddy Boots logo, ready for the upcoming up autumn-winter season. The collection is perfect for keeping you warm and dry in class, and you’ll get to represent the brand too!
In this blog post we’ll recommend items for colder weather, the reasons why and where to buy.

At Little Muddy Boots, we carry on in all weathers and firmly stand by the saying that there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. Our recent article explored the reasons why spending time in nature is great for bonding with your child, and that shouldn’t stop when autumn arrives. In this article we hope to give you some ideas and inspiration for how to dress your little one for their Little Muddy Boots classes as the seasons change.
Read on to see our favourite items from the Little Muddy Boots Autumn Winter Collection and top tips on how to keep your little one warm and cosy.
1. Swap a scarf for a snood
While scarves can be great for keeping little necks warm, in our experience a snood works even better. Scarves unravel, come off, trail in the mud or fall into a puddle completely. Snoods stay put while keeping in warmth.
Our Little Muddy Boots Junior Snood is soft, cosy and packs away easily. It’s versatile and can be draped around the neck, pulled up over the face or doubled for extra warmth. The good news is it also comes in an adult size, so you and your child can match.

2. Puddle suits are perfect for wet days
Living in the UK means we need to be prepared for wet weather. A puddle suit is the perfect staple for your outdoor adventure bag. It provides children with the freedom to explore and keeps them dry without being too bulky.
We love the Little Muddy Boots Kids Rain Suit because it’s made from high quality materials with reinforced stitching that withstands frequent use and washing. As well as being super waterproof, it has an adjustable fit, breathable design and packs down small – all the things we look for when choosing decent waterproof gear.
A great puddle suit means the rain never needs to slow your child down. Just remember to pop the trousers legs over your child’s wellies, rather than tucked inside, to help keep legs and feet dry.

3. Don’t forget hats and gloves
Hats and gloves are really important for keeping warmth in. Little ones will start to feel the cold very quickly with bare hands.
While we want to keep them warm and dry, choosing waterproof gloves that are made of a flexible material is a great option so that they can still play easily.
When it comes to hats, there are a few fantastic options as part of the Little Muddy Boots Autumn Winter Collection, from classic beanies to chunky bobbles. All are soft, warm, versatile and durable, and come in a wide range of fun colours. Adult sizes are available too.
Our top tip is to keep hats and gloves in your changing/adventure bag so that you never forget them when you leave the house.

4. Layers for the win
We can’t advocate for layering enough to help keep children warm in the autumn and winter. Thermals, cosy jumpers, welly warmers, and waterproofs all have a part to play. Pop a Little Muddy Boots t-shirt over thermals and under a chunky knit for an extra layer of warmth. You can always remove a layer if your child gets too warm.
5. Appropriate footwear makes all the difference
There is nothing worse than cold, wet feet on a day out. Warm and waterproof footwear can make all the difference when you’re exploring nature. We recommend wellies for wet weather and welly warmers to lock in heat in the colder months.
You could also buy snow boots for icy weather. Wear waterproof trousers or a puddle suit over boots (not tucked inside) to prevent water dripping down legs and to help keep feet dry.
