What Happens During A Class?

Each session includes an initial 10-15 minutes free play before we start on a collection of group and individual activities that focus on the week’s learning topic.

During free play, children can study and care for plants they are growing in the garden (e.g sunflowers, tomatoes or potatoes), make mud pies and magic potions in the mud kitchen, play hide and seek in the woodland, try out the water wall and much more.

The ground leader will then encourage the children to try a collection of activities, during which they will dabble in maths and science, expand their vocabulary and knowledge of the chosen topic and create one (or more!) craft to take home. The sessions are focused on the benefits of playing and learning together outside, with the freedom of space and fresh air. Plus we always encourage the adults to get stuck in as you’ll sometimes find you learn something new too!

Once you’ve booked onto a Little Muddy Boots class, you’ll receive a confirmation email, you can read our information pack here.
