Looking back at our wonderful community projects is always a joy, and one special memory from 2025 continues to make us smile.
The Lexicon in Bracknell was awarded Gold at the Green Apple Environment Awards for Property & Estate Management: Habitat & Diversity. This award recognized the Spring into Colour campaign, which took place over the May Half Term in partnership with our Little Muddy Boots teaching team. It was such a special experience watching local children and families come together, get their hands dirty, and discover the simple wonder of growing things.
Sowing Seeds and Sharing Stories
The magic of Spring into Colour started well before the main event. In the lead up to the campaign, our team visited 13 local care homes. We spent precious time with the residents sowing seeds, chatting, and bringing bright new life to their garden spaces.
It was deeply heartwarming to hear from these care homes in the months following, as residents continued to tend and enjoy the colourful planters filled with flowers and edible plants. Seeing different generations connect through nature is a beautiful reminder of how planting a simple seed can bring a whole community together.
Transforming Union Square into a Garden Haven
During May Half Term, Union Square became a vibrant pop-up garden. Little hands filled pots with soil, sowed seeds, created nature crafts, and explored the strawberry trail. The space came alive with bright blooms, laughter, and wonderfully muddy hands. It offered a lovely opportunity for children to slow down, explore with their senses, and experience the happiness of outdoor learning.
